May 20, 2018 Lilac Party at Willowwood Arboretum

We hope you have SAVED the DATE, Sunday afternoon, May 20, 2018 for this wonderful garden party fundraiser for the Willowwood Foundation.

It begins at 4:30 pm under the Tent with adult libations available at the bar, an interesting Silent Auction featuring not only unusual and interesting plants but also a few surprises. Check out this year's very special surprises:

1. A private luncheon for 6 on the Tubbs House Porch with a tour of the gardens! Plus a bit of bubbly on a lovely afternoon. What a way to just relax and let the cares of the world disappear - or celebrate a special occasion with close friends. A Very Unusual Opportunity to experience a long lost, very different way of life.

2. Did you know bees can travel up to 5 miles to pollinate and then make their honey? Well an offering of three seasons of award winning honey - Spring, Summer and Fall - by Dr. Steven Dultz's bees are far more local (just across the street) so we know they visit Willowwood's gardens. Great for local allergy suffers - a quarter teaspoon a day will help solve those sneezing blues.

3. Have you ever ridden in a Model "A" - here's your chance to plan a ride (or be in a parade) as John Charles Smith, noted Far Hills Landscape Architect, will take you on the ride of your life - nothing like a bumble seat!

4. And finally, would you like to have a brand new Tesla in your driveway overnight? Drive it to a special event or night out with a special someone?
Tesla is accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy, offering the safest, quickest electric cars on the road. Take a look at what tomorrow looks like and bid on 24 hours to try it out.

5. And lots of interesting and rare plants ready to go in your garden from our partner garden centers and member gardens.

And to make it easier, we take visa and mastercard. no need to bring your checkbook!

A Spring Wine Tasting hosted by Andrea Maranca of Tewksbury Fine Fines will give you a chance to tease your palate with a variety of wines from all over the world.

And taste tempting hors d'oeuvres presented by Ross and Owren.

All this to the accompaniment of lovely piano music by Amir Mortezai

And TWO performances by The Ten of Somerset Hills in the Stone Barn.

If Mother Nature cooperates there will be the gentle breeze of lilac perfume and the gardens will be in Spring Bloom - perfect for a lovely early evening stroll. And as a memory of the party, every attendee traditionally receives a lilac plant as a gift from the Willowwood Foundation for their garden.

We hope you will join us for this charming garden party. Invitations and RSVP card available on website. Tickets begin at $90 per person. Call 973 615 4841 for more information.
